The Magic of Bill Blagg LIVE at the Paramount THIS WEEKEND!

By Chrissy Shackelford, Education & Outreach Associate

MagicWe’re bringing Magic back to the Paramount! Nearly 100 years ago famed magician Harry Houdini performed on the historic Paramount stage, delighting audiences, escaping deathly feats, and giving the theatre our most talked about anecdote! (Legend has it that Houdini carved a hole in the ceiling of the Paramount to perform one of his grand illusions. You can still see the hole today, just look up and to the left of the painting of St. Cecilia!)

And this Sunday, October 20, professional magician Bill Blagg will be performing on that same stage, with his hit show “The Magic of Bill Blagg” at 2pm and 4:30pm at the Paramount Theatre! Join the Education department one h

our before showtime for pre-show crafts (1pm & 3:30pm)!

Over 3,000 Austin area students will also being seeing this show next Monday and Tuesday, kicking off the first Student Matinee of the season! In Bill Blagg’s student shows, he performs the magic and then breaks down the tricks through science! The education department has been hard at working teaching pre-show workshops and getting students excited for the magic ahead. This past weekend we read stories about magic, performed tricks, and let children make their own magic wands at BookPeople’s Saturday Storytimes!
