YOUTH THEATRE COMPANY: PRESERVATION

Doors @ 1:30pm | Show @ 2:00pm
The Paramount Theatre
Tickets are only $5
In partnership with the City of Austin/Travis County Summer Youth Employment Program – 20 Austin high school students from varied backgrounds have worked together at the Paramount Theatre for over 5 weeks to write and produce their own original play. This year, the company has been hard at work creating an original performance that captures their unique voices and perspectives from the community around the topic of: PRESERVATION.
The topic of “Preservation” is an important one for the Paramount Theatre, but as Austin continues to grow at alarming rates, the preservation of the people, the buildings, the history, and the culture of our great city becomes more important than ever. Join the Youth Theatre Company as they explore “Preservation” from many different perspectives. Special thanks to The Cynthia & George Mitchell Foundation, Preservation Texas, The Austin History Center, The Austin History Center Association, The City of Austin, and Travis County.
We hope you will join us to see what they’ve created!
