Director of Education and Outreach
Jennifer received her MFA in Drama and Theatre for Youth and Communities from the University of Texas and her BA in Theatre from Arizona State University.  For the past fourteen years she has taught theatre professionally in Arizona, New York City, Los Angeles, and Austin.  She has taught with Phoenix Theatre, Arizona Jewish Theatre Company, The Herberger Theatre Center, Biz Kids NY, The Children’s Museum of Manhattan, Kids on Stage CA, Azusa Pacific University, and she spent three years in the Education Department at Center Theatre Group/The Mark Taper Forum. She taught undergraduate acting and voice courses at UT, as well as the “Performance of Persuasion” at the UT School of Law.  In Austin she has worked with Theatre Action Project, the Theatre Academy at the J, Summer Wonders, ACE Academy and the Ann Richards School for Young Women Leaders.  Jennifer is also a singer/songwriter, composer, director and actor.  In 2009 she was named a Don and Elizabeth Doyle Fellow, recognized for her artistic ability in the area of Theatre for Youth. She is proud to Direct the Paramount Academy for the Arts and to work with so many talented and inspiring young Ausinites.

Education and Outreach Program Manager
Chad originally hails from Louisville, Kentucky. He graduated from Centre College in Danville, Kentucky in 2006 with a degree in Dramatic Arts. Chad spent 5 years in Washington DC working in arts education before moving to Austin in September of 2012. His career in arts education began at Arena Stage where he was a Education Fellow for the 2005-2006 season and continued at the DC Arts and Humanities Education Collaborative.   For the next 3 years Chad was the Outreach Coordinator for Imagination Stage in Bethesda, Maryland. At Imagination Stage he created and coordinated after school and community programming for students. In July 2011 Chad got married to his amazing wife Meg and relocated to Austin, TX.

ChrissyChrissy Shackelford
Education and Outreach Associate
Chrissy Shackelford is an actor, teacher, choreographer, and graduate of the University of Texas at Austin’s Theatre & Dance Department, performing in numerous award-winning productions and running the student leadership program, Camp Texas. She has been teaching for 4 years and has worked with The Paramount Theater, St. Andrew’s Episcopal School, and Actors Theatre of Louisville. She learns and teaches best through laughter and believes children are the best comedians of all.  If you see her teaching a class she is probably making jokes with the students and dancing to imaginary music.

MitchMitch Harris
Education and Outreach Associate
Mitch Harris is a working actor, a published playwright and journalist, the founder and director of the nonprofit Conqui-Story-Dores and an arts educator.  Mitch has taught arts-based after school classes, in-school creative writing workshops, theatre camp classes and has tutored students on 3 different continents. Mitch is above all else, a storyteller. He has a degree in Theatre Arts Performance from St. Edward’s University and is an Actor’s Equity Association Membership Candidate.
